Karnataka: Panchayat President nabbed for alleged sexual assault

Mandya, Karnataka, May 28 (IBNS) A Karnataka panchayat president was arrested by police for alleged attempts of rape, according to reports.

The event took place on Thursday evening and was caught on camera.

Chandrahas, the offender, is the gram panchayat president of Kestur in Mandya district of the state.

He allegedly forced himself on a woman employee.

The woman told media that Chandrahas summoned her to his cabin at round 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, where he harassed her sexually.

An Fir was filed, following which the panchayat president was arrested.
