Karunanidhi stable, Rahul Gandhi visits the DMK supremo

Chennai, Dec 17 (IBNS) : Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi reached Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital to visit DMK supremo M Karunanidhi, who recuperates from a surgery, reports said.

The 92-year-old leader was hospitalised on Thursday night due to lung and throat infection.

He later underwent tracheostomy on Friday.

A medical bulletin by the Kauvery Hospital said  that Karunanidhi was “stable”.

Reports quoted hospital authorities as saying that the former Chief Minister  is being treated with antibiotics and being monitored by a team of doctors.
