New Delhi, Aug 12 (IBNS): A week after the Indian government withdrew Jammu and Kashmir's special status by scrapping Articles 370 and 35A, the Centre on Monday also suspended the bus service between New Delhi and Pakistani city of Lahore indefinitely.

"Consequent to Pak decision to suspend the Delhi - Lahore bus service, DTC is not able to send bus from 12.8.2019," said a two-line official statement issued by the Delhi Transport Corporation, reported Times Now.

Pakistan had earlier suspended the operation of the bus service.

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Postal Services and Communications Murad Saeed had tweeted: "In line with the decisions of NSC Pak-India bus service is suspended."

Pakistan has also suspended Samjhauta Express and Thar Link Express trains services which joins the two neighbouring nation ever since PM Narendra Modi  and his government made significant announcements regarding Jammu and Kashmir last Monday.

India suspended the Samjhauta Express service on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Eid was celebrated peacefully in Kashmir on Monday.
