Kashmir separatists slam Omar's remarks on Google hangout
Srinagar, Apr 5 (IBNS) Kashmir's separatist groups Saturday flayed Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his remarks during his first Google hangout where he had castigated pro-freedom camp saying they do not know what they want from the government.
The Huriyat Conference (G) led by the senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani while giving a wide berth to the statement, remarked that Omar has not addressed them but has trained his guns at those who have held talks with New Delhi in the past.
The group added that it from the day one is against the procedure of dialogue on Kashmir.
It added that Huriyat (G) wants India to accept Kashmir as a disputed territory and only after that dialogue for Kashmir resolution could be initiated.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) led by Mohammad Yasin Malik when contacted reserved the comments over the issue.
The front spokesman, however, said that Malik and several others were assaulted and arrested in injured condition when they were going towards Baramullah to address a poll boycott rally.
"We cannot comment over Omar's statement at present- we will do so once the chairman is released," the spokesperson said.
Huriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while passing the buck to the central government alleged that it never showed any seriousness in resolving Kashmir issue across the table. They alleged that eight years ago they had provided New Delhi the road map for the Kashmir solution but nothing was done on ground.
"As far as the agenda of the Huriyat Conference is concerned- it is clear that we represent the aspiration of the people of Kashmir and stress that Kashmir problem can either be resolved through the implementation of UN resolutions or by a tripartite dialogue," Huriyat (M) spokesman said.
The newly formed amalgam Huriyat JK while castigating Omar over what it called anti-people policies said that since Omar could not even revoke AFSPA from a single area of Kashmir, he must not talk about other issues related to Kashmir resolution.
Pertinently, Omar had said that the separatists were asked to come forward with their expectations from the talks but they do not know what they want.
