Kashmir: Two LeT terrorists involved in killing officers encircled

Srinagar/UNI: A day after two Army officers and a Deputy Superintendent of Police were killed, Jammu and Kashmir Police said that the two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists had been encircled by the security forces in the Anantnag district of the valley.

Security forces launched a massive combing operation in the forest of Gadole, Kokernag, on Wednesday to trace the militants involved in the killing of three officers.

"In solemn tribute to the unwavering valour of Col. Manpreet Singh,Major Ashish Dhonak & DSP Humayun Bhat, who laid down their lives leading from the front during this ongoing operation.

"Our forces persist with unwavering resolve as they encircle two LET terrorists, including Uzair Khan," the police announced on X.

Army Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Aashish Dhonchak, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Himayun Muzamil Bhat were killed in a gunfight with militants at Kokernag, Anantnag, on Wednesday.
