Thiruvantapuram, Jan 20 (IBNS) A wealthy businessman from Kerala has been convicted of driving his Hummer into a security guard in a fit of rage about a year ago.

Mohammed Nisham, known as "the beedi king" of Kerala and having an empire that includes real estate and hotel businesses as well, was  arrested  on charges of ramming his SUV right into Chandrabose, a security guard at the gated neighbourhood where the businessmen lives in Thiruvananthapuram.

The police said that  Nisham was drunk, and enraged because Chandrabose fumbled for a few seconds.

The  businessmen  reportedly drove his SUV into the guard, pinning him into the wall, then got out of the car to beat him up.

Chandrabose died in hospital  three weeks later.
