Kolkata, May 18 (IBNS): At least four persons, including two women, were seriously injured when the terrace of a dilapidated building collapsed at Ripon Lane area under Park Street Police Station limits in south Kolkata on Wednesday midnight, reports said.

According to reports, a portion of roof of the nearly 200-year-old multi-storey suddenly fell down at around 1 am, leaving four of its residents injured.

Local police, fire and emergency services officials and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel rushed to the scene and after rescuing the four injured, sent them to National Medical College and Hospital.

A city police official told IBNS that they are looking into the matter and police could take legal action against the owner of the building, which has already been marked as highly hazardous by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
