Kolkata: Body of Class X student found in G D Birla School's toilet

Kolkata, Jun 21 (IBNS): The body of a Class X student was found from the toilet of Kolkata's G D Birla School on Friday.

The school is located at Ranikuthi in Tollygunj area of south Kolkata, police investigating the unnatural death said.

The 15-year-old girl, identified as Kritika, was declared brought dead by the medics when she was taken to a private hospital.

Dr Pratik Mitra said they found cut marks on her left hand.

Forensic experts, after preliminary examinations said blood stained blades, a plastic bag, a pen and a three-page suicide note were found inside the toilet, reported UNI news agency.

The girl was found unconscious with mouth stuffed with plastic bag inside the toilet.

School authorities said the girl stood top in all the subjects, reported UNI.

GD Birla and its dark episode in 2017:

The south Kolkata school, which is considered as one of the popular institutions in the city, grabbed the headlines in 2017 when parents staged large-scale protests following allegations that a student was molested.

Two accused teachers of the school were arrested.

The duo were charged under several sections of IPC and POSCO act.
