Kolkata, Dec 20 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested senior Kolkata based journalist and the editor of Times of India (TOI) group's Bengali daily- Ei Samay, Suman Chattopadhyay, for his alleged involvement in multi-crore I-Core chit fund scam, officials said.

According to reports, after being summoned by the Central probe agency, Suman Chattopadhyay visited CBI's office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake with a set of documents.

After a marathon interrogation of nearly six hours, the senior journalist was arrested.

A source in the probe agency said that the senior journalist allegedly received money from I-Core ponzi firm.

Chattopadhyay was also accused of non-cooperation in the investigation as well as hiding information.

However, Suman Chattopadhyay will be taken to Bhubaneswar on Friday and will be produced before a local court there.
