Kolkata: Dengue patient goes violent at private hospital, injures 3 nurses

Kolkata, Oct 21 (IBNS): At least three nurses of a private hospital in south Kolkata were seriously injured when a patient suddenly attacked them on Friday, reports said.

According to reports, middle aged patient Subir Saha, who was suffering from dengue and being treated at All Asia Medical Institute (AAMI) at Garcha First Lane area under Gariahat Police Station limits in Kolkata, went violent in the early morning and beaten up three nurses with an iron stick, used for hanging saline-water bottles.

Sustaining deep head injuries, three nurses- Shipra Mondal, Margaret Mondal and Victoria Thokcham- are under treatment at different hospitals.

A complaint has been lodged at Gariahat Police Station and police have started investigation into the case, while the accused patient is still absconding.
