Kolkata: Massive fire breaks out at Burrabazar building

Kolkata, Feb 27 (IBNS): A major fire broke out at a residential-cum-commercial building at Amratala Lane area under Burrabazar Police Station limits in Kolkata on Monday night, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first seen around 9:30 pm at a multi-storey, where few people stay, near Burrabazar Police Station.

As many as 20 fire tender engines, police and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel rushed to the scene and firefighting operation is currently underway.

As several godowns are there inside the building, the fire may spread fast, according to locals.

No casualties has been reported in the incident so far.

Exact reason behind the fire has not been confirmed yet.

Due to the massive blaze, traffic at M.G. Road and Rabindra Sarani nearby have been partly disrupted, Kolkata Traffic Police official said.
