Kolkata, Apr 9 (UNI): Ahead of Thursday's first phase poll in North Bengal's Cooch Behar and Alipurduars Lok Sabha seats, police seized around Rs 4.5 lakh unaccounted cash and arrested three persons, including two from New Delhi, in city's northern Lake Town area, police said today.

According to Election Commission' directive amount exceeding Rs 50,000 in cash should be supported with relevant documents or the money would be liable for seizure.

Police while frisking a car, bearing Delhi registration number, last night seized the funds and arrested three persons, including the driver who was found intoxicated.

Police is investigating the source of the money and where it was bound to be delivered.
