Kolkata: SFY-DYFI leaders, who were arrested during agitation, get bail
According to reports, during a demonstration over alleged irregularities in primary teachers recruitment (TET) in the state, police arrested at least 104 leader and supporters of SFI and DYFI from Kolkata's Esplanade area on last Thursday (Mar 9).
Later on Friday, 96 of them got bail from a local court and remaining eight, including state SFI president Madhuja Sen Roy and state president of DYFI- Sayandeep Mitra, were remanded to judicial custody as police slapped several non-bailable charges on them.
These eight leader-activists were produced in Bankshall Court on Tuesday again and all were granted bail.
A large number of SFI-DYFI supporters held a protest march from Esplanade to Bankshall Court on Tuesday afternoon and they played holi in front of the city sessions court at Bankshall Street after their jailed comrades got bail.
However, party leaders said that their protests will be strengthened in future.
