Kolkata STF arrests Rajasthan man with FICN worth Rs. 1 lakh
Kolkata, May 30 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, Kolkata Police's Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday night arrested a man from Meyo Road under Maidan Police Station limits in city's downtown Esplanade area and seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth 1 lakh rupees from his possession, officials said.
According to reports, based on the statements of Abdus Sattar, who was nabbed from Burrabazar area with FICN worth Rs. 10 lakh earlier on May 21, STF held the suspected FICN racketeer from the eastern side of George Telegraph Sports Club.
"We have arrested FICN racketeer Mitha Lal alias Mukesh, who is a resident of Rajasthan's Jalor district, and seized 50 pieces of Rs. 2000 notes amounting to Rs. 1 lakh rupees from his possession," a STF official told IBNS.
The man was produced in a city court on Wednesday and was remanded to STF custody.
