Lok Sabha polls counting: Trends at 9 am

New Delhi, May 16 (IBNS): Counting of votes in the Lok Sabha polls started on Friday as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 99 seats while the ruling Congress is ahead in 41 seats.

BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi leading in Vadodara in Gujarat and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is trailing in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh (UP).

BJP's Uma Bharti is leading in Jhansi in UP.

BJP's Hema Malini is leading in Mathura, UP.

BJP's Sushma Swaraj leads in Vidisha constituency in Madhya Pradesh.

NCP's Supriya Sule is trailing in Baramati, Maharashtra.

 
Congress' Shashi Tharoor, Nandan Nilekani and Meira Kumar are trailing.
