#LokSabhaElection2019: RSS-man Surendran gets BJP ticket for Parliament seat that houses Sabarimala temple

New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) Kerala state unit general secretary K Surendran, who has the RSS backing, finally walked away with the crucial party ticket for Pathanamthitta parliamentary constituency that houses popular Sabarimala Temple.

Mr Surendran's name was announced in the latest party list of candidates on Saturday here.

The BJP considers it has good chance of winning Pathanamthitta, which was the epicentre of Sabarimala agitation.

Kerala unit president P S Sreedharan Pillai, an Amit Shah confidant was also keen for the ticket.

Mr Surendran was also taken into preventive custody during Sabarimala Temple agitation. He had also started his political career through Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

In the list released, the saffron party announced the name of Mafuja Khatun for Jangipur Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal.

Among three important UP seats, the BJP nominees will be Pradeep Chaudhary (Kairana), Dr Yeshwant (Nagina SC seat) and Bhola Singh (Bulandshahr SC).

The BJP also announced the names of six Lok Sabha seats in Telangana including Dr Bhagwanth Rao from Hyderabad.
