#LokSabhaPoll2019: Chennithala asks LDF to withdraw candidate against Rahul Gandhi

| @indiablooms | Mar 24, 2019, at 07:00 pm

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 24 (UNI) Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly, Ramesh Chennithala, on Sunday asked whether the Left Democratic Front (LDF) will withdraw their candidate if Congress president Rahul Gandhi contested in Wayanad.

Chennithala was reacting to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's remarks that the candidature of Rahul in Kerala will create an impression at the national level that the fight was between the CPI(M) and the Congress.

"When the secular forces are fighting against the BJP unitedly, the Candidature of Rahul in Wayanad will give a wrong message," the Chief Minister said.

Ramesh Chennithala said the the CPI(M) fears that they will loss all the 20 seats in Kerala if Rahul came to Wayanad.

To a question on the Rahul's candidature, Chennithala said the Congress president is yet to take a decision on his candidature in Wayanad.

Early this morning, senior Congress leader PC Chacko told newspersons in Delhi that the Congress president did not take a final decision or give his consent to contest from Wayanad.

He also blamed Congress leaders in Kerala for creating an impression that Rahul gave his consent to contest from Wayanad.
