Gaya, Mar 25 (UNI) Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today filed nomination paper on the last day for Gaya (reserved) constituency, going to the poll on April 11.

Manjhi filed his nomination before Gaya district magistrate cum district election officer in the conference hall of Collectorate.

Congress MLA Awadhesh Kumar Singh, RJD MLA Dr Surendra Prasad Yadav and large number of supporters were present on the occasion.

After filing nomination, Manjhi told newspersons that there was no challenge before him in Gaya (reserved) parliamentary constituency and claimed it would be a one-sided contest. He said, development had not taken place at the desired level during the tenures of earlier representatives of the constituency.

The former chief minister said, several small cities had been included in the list of ‘smart city’ but Gaya despite being a mythological place had not found place in the list so far. He said his first priority would be to solve problems existing in Gaya parliamentary constituency after winning the seat.

Manjhi said that an election rally would be organised at Gandhi Maidan here and it would be addressed by leader of opposition Tejaswi Yadav and other leaders.

“My election campaign will reach to block and Panchayat level,” he said adding grand alliances faced no challenge in Lok Sabha election.
