Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan visits Mandsaur, gives Rs. one crore to farmer's family

Bhopal, June 14 (IBNS) : Madhya Preadesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday visited the trouble-torn Mandsaur to assuage the feelings of farmers after six people were killed last week during an agitation.

According to reports. Chouhan  handed over a cheque of Rs one crore to the family of one of  the victims.

The state Government on Tuesday sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs. one crore each for the families of  those killed.

Chouhan, who was accompanied by his wife Sadhna reached Mandsaur in a special plane.

They first went to Badwan village to meet the family  of farmer Ghanshyam Dhakad, who was killed in police firing.

He handed over a Rs.one-crore cheque to the family and assured to take all measures against those who had opened fire on farmers.

He is also scheduled to visit few other villages.

The Mandsaur district  has been on boil after farmers staged a violent protest demanding better prices for their produce and waiver of loans.
