Madhya Pradesh to have Info Tech Directorate

Bhopal, Feb 16 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government on Saturday approved constitution of a Directorate of Information Technology.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath chaired the related Cabinet meeting in Jabalpur, it was officially learnt.

The round-the-clock Women Helpline (181) Scheme aimed at ensuring assistance during emergencies was also assented to. The confab ratified continuing the Centre of Excellence – Project e-Mission up to 2019-20 besides sanctioning Rs 1.07 crore for filling 27 posts vis-a-vis operating the Women Helpline centres through outsourcing.

The Helpline will be linked to all emergency services and one-stop centres. The number could be accessed utilising media such as cellular phones, landlines, private/public network and Code-Division Multiple Access. Through these centres women may also obtain details regarding government schemes.

The gathering consented to a policy for providing wire and wireless-based voice and data services. The proposed amendments in the Nagar Palika Rules, 2012, regarding installation of mobile towers in urban areas was given the go-ahead.

The meeting endorsed a proposal for filling 78 posts at the Chief Electoral Officer’s workplace, 408 at district election offices and 1,150 at returning officers’ workplaces. Thus 1,634 positions will be occupied either through deputation, outsourcing or promotion.

At the beginning, the members paid tributes to the personnel who attained martyrdom in the cowardly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama District. One of them, Constable Ashvni Kumar Kaochi, belonged to Jabalpur District.
