Maharashtra: Dacoity case of Vajreshwari temple cracked; five nabbed

Thane, May 21 (UNI) Five persons have been arrested in the infamous dacoity case in Vajreshwari Temple, which happened on May 10, police said on Tuesday. 

The district Superintendent of Police Dr Shivaji Rathod informed in a press conference on Tuesday that of a total booty of around 7.10 lakh, around Rs. 2.83 lakh has been recovered from them.


On May 10 at wee hours, the accused tied the watchman and looted five hundis and decamped with the booty.


The accused were identified as Govind soma Gimbal (35), Jawhar, Vineet Surji Chimda (19), Bharat Wagh (22), Jagdish Navtare (26) and Pravin Navtare (22).


Most of the accused were from Aghai of Sahapur and others from Wada taluka of this district.
