Maharashtra fights COVID-19: Lockdown in Thane Dist selectively extended till July 31
Thane/UNI: The ongoing lockdown in the district (excluding the Corporation limits), which was in force till Sunday night, has now been extended selectively up to July 31, an order issued by district collector Rajesh Narvekar said.
The order stated that this lockdown will be applicable for the containment zones and to those containment zones which will get added to it subsequently.
The order further said that this extension was necessitated as the cases of corona were on the rise in the district despite the best efforts by the administration.
Similarly, in Kalyan-Dombivili Municipal Corporation limits, the lockdown has been extended till the same date by an order issued by commissioner Vijay Suryavanashi on Sunday.
In Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation limits also, the lockdown has been extended till July 31 by an order issued today by commissioner Dr Pankaj Ashiya.
Likewise, the lockdown in Mira-Bhayander had also been extended up to July 31, vide an order issued late on Saturday night by commissioner Dr Vijay Rathod.
The lockdown in Thane city was extended up to July 31, vide an order issued by the commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma on Saturday evening.
As regards the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, the current lockdown is in force till July 22.
All the civic corporations where the lockdown is extended is selective and is confined only to the confinement zones.
Thane district recorded total 67,605 positive cases and 1,892 deaths in the district till Sunday night.
