Maharashtra: Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve criticises Eknath Shinde govt over 'failing' to maintain law and order
Mumbai: Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, on Sunday slammed the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis-led government and said they have completely failed to maintain law and order in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, he called the state government anti-farmer and anti-people.
"Despite the previous announcement of Rs 350 per quintal for onion by the government, it has not given a single subsidy to the farmers. Also, the price of cotton has dropped sharply from Rs 12,000 to Rs 6,000. The government should have doubled the amount of relief to the farmers for losses suffered due to heavy rains, but it has not done so," he said.
Talking about farmers' suicides in the state, the Opposition leader charged that this government has completely failed to prevent farmers' suicides.
Targeting the government further, he expressed serious concern about a rise in incidents of murder in the state and also a spurt in crimes against women.
Danve claimed there was a lot of corruption in the construction of the Samruddhi Highway.
