Maharashtra makes Covid negative report mandatory for passengers from four states
Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra government on Monday made Covid-negative report mandatory for visitors from Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Goa, said media reports.
These states have witnessed sudden jump in coronavirus cases. National capital Delhi is, infact, witnessing a third wave of coronavirus.
“The passengers travelling in flights from Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Gujarat will have to produce a negative RT-PCR report on landing at airports in Maharashtra. The test should have been done 72 hours prior to the scheduled journey,” the notification issued by the Maharashtra government read, reported media.
For trains, the test should have been done at least 96 hours ago and will be applicable to trains that halt or terminate in Delhi and the three states mentioned in the notification.
However, people coming to Maharashtra in trains and not possessing a report will be tested for symptoms at the railway stations when they get off. In case of symptoms, they will have to undergo Rapid Antigen tests.
In case of road travel, passengers from concerned states will be checked for symptoms. People without symptoms will be allowed entry whereas those with symptoms will have to turn back.
