Maharashtra: Two brothers arrested for murdering another sibling
Palghar/UNI: Two brothers from Valiv of Vasai in Maharashtra have been arrested by the district rural police on the alleged charges of murder of another sibling, police said on Saturday.
Sr PI Vilas Chowgule of the Valiv police station told media that the duo have been charged under section 302 rw 34 of the IPC and the further probe into the case was underway.
The police registered the case following a complaint by the father of the brothers he said.
He said that the victim identified as Bupendra Sharma (29), resided with his parents and siblings in a chawl in Valiv.
There was acute water shortage in the locality and the residents used to get water at odd hours and the occupants filled the water to meet the need.
As the victim was not into any work and at home his mother used to ask him to fill the water from the tap whenever it comes, which he refused to oblige and picked up a quarrel with his mother
During one such quarrel on June 19, at about 5 AM once again he picked up a quarrel with his mother and also ran over her to assault her.
The two accused who were present there tried to save their mother, which angered the victim, who bashed them up also.
The two accused brothers got annoyed and beat up the victim with the sticks and iron rods due to which he got severe injuries in his head. He was then rushed to the hospital.
It was on June 24, while being treated at the hospital in Mumbai, he succumbed to his wounds and the present case was registered, said the police officer.
The police gave the names of the siblings arrested as Ishwar Sharma, 33 and Manoj Sharma, 23 and added that further probe into the crime was underway.
