Mahendra Nath Pandey takes charge of the office of Minister of State (HRD)

New Delhi, July 6 (IBNS) Minister of State Mahendra Nath Pandey took charge of office of MoS (HRD), on Wednesday.

Interacting with the media persons, he stressed on the priority of making quality education accessible to all the citizens of India.

Mahendra Nath Pandey had taken oath as a new Minister of State, on Tuesday.

Mahendra Nath Pandey is a Lok Sabha MP from Chandauli Constituency, Uttar Pradesh. Before being elected to 16th Loksabha, he had served as member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly during 1991-92 and 1996-2002. During his stint as Minister of State in Govt of Uttar Pradesh between 1997 and 2002, he handled  Housing & Urban Development and  later, Planning and Panchayati Raj portfolios as independent charge.

As a vibrant Parliamentarian in the 16th Lok Sabha, he had been a member of Standing Committee on Rural Development and Consultative Committee for Ministry of Steel and Mines.

He was also a member of Business Advisory Committee and Parliament Committee on Official Language.

Educated at the Banaras Hindu University, he has a doctorate in Hindi Language and has taken masters degree in Journalism as well.
