New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Monday began the ninth day of her 13-day 'Mahila Suraksha Padyatra' with sanitary pads in hands and issued notice to sanitary pad manufactures for failing to pass on benefit of zero per cent GST to consumers by not reducing the MRP.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Maliwal said,'Began our 9th day of Mahila Suraksha Yatra with sanitary pads in our hands. We all must break the taboo. Also issuing notice to companies selling sanitary pads as they are not giving benefit of 0 per cent GST on pads to women but are usurping it!'

The DCW chief on February 24th begun a 13-day 'padyatra' on women safety from Rajghat, and launched pilot project 'Mahila Suraksha Dal' during the foot march.

The DCW Chief and her team are meeting women, receiving complaints and initiating on spot action.

As part of the yatra , Ms Maliwal is staying in jhuggis.
