Mamata Banerjee meets Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi in Patna ahead of mega Oppositions' meet

Kolkata/IBNS/UNI: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna ahead of the grand opposition meeting.

Meeting Nitish Kumar, Banerjee said the leaders had a chance to address several important issues that affect "our respective states and the overall development of our nation."

"Nitish ji's leadership and experience have been instrumental in driving progress and addressing the challenges faced by Bihar. I convey my best wishes to him for all his future endeavours. Jai Hind," she said.

Earlier she also met RJD President Lalu Prasad, former CM of Bihar Rabri Devi, and Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav in Patna.

Banerjee was accompanied by Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and Kolkata Corporation Mayor and State Minister Firhad Hakim.

They discussed pertinent matters and exchanged views on a range of crucial issues, according to party sources.

Speaking about her meeting, Banerjee said:  "Engaging in meaningful discussions with them was truly gratifying, as it allowed us to delve into important subjects and share perspectives on a wide array of crucial matters. This meeting served as an ideal platform for exchanging ideas, envisioning the path to propelling our nation to new heights, and discovering ways to serve the people with even greater dedication and commitment."

"I extend my heartfelt gratitude to them for their invaluable time. Guided by a shared vision of taking our nation to greater heights, may we continue to work dedicatedly for the progress and prosperity of people. Jai Hind," she added.

The grand opposition parties meeting is scheduled to be held on Friday and will be attended by several political leaders including Congress's Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, according to reports.

The meeting will be helmed by Nitish Kumar who is playing a crucial role to bring together the opposition parties ahead of the 2024 national elections.
