Police sources said that Shyamvilas Trivedi was having a dispute with his neighbours over an open land in front of his house.

"On Friday night when Shyamvilas was going to attend a religious function he was attacked by his neighbours Shivnand Shukla, Ashutosh and others," Police said.

Police sources said Shyamvilas, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to the district hospital where he died during treatment on Saturday morning.

"A case has been lodged and the body has been sent for postmortem examination. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused," police said.
