Man charge-sheeted in Mehbooba Mufti's fake signature case
Jammu/UNI: Jammu Crime Branch on Saturday charge-sheeted a man in connection with former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s fake signature case.
Official spokesman here said that the Crime Branch Jammu second time Charge-sheeted habitual imposter Sandeep Koul of Sec-3 Channi Himmat, in case of preparing and forging priority letters of the then Chief Minister J&K Mehbooba Mufti with an intention to procure Helicopter tickets on priority from SMVD SB authorities by committing fraud.
Earlier the accused was charge-sheeted for faking signature of none less than the then foreign minister of India, Sushma Swaraj.
Koul owns Desh Pradesh tour and travels Shastri Nagar Jammu, presently at Sector - 4 Channi Himmat, Jammu Khalid Jahangir, Additional Secretary to Government of J&K, Home Department, in a written complaint to Crime Branch Jammu alleged against unknown imposter with regard to a DO purportedly issued by the then Chief Minister J&K addressed to the Chief Executive Officer Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra, wherein it was alleged that some fraudulent person has prepared fake DO letter purportedly under the fake and forged signatures of the then Chief Minister J&K, seeking therein favour, in the shape of arranging helicopter tickets for his clients to perform Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi Holy cave on April 27-28, 2017.
The spokesman said that that this led to registration of instant case in Crime Branch, Jammu.
Electronic trails were tracked to reach the blind end in the case. Documentary, oral, electronic and scientific evidences helped Investigating officer establish charges of preparing fake priority letters using them as genuine with criminal intention against the accused for fetching more money from the innocent pilgrims, he added.
Koul is a notorious hard core criminal with past bad conduct. Twelve years back, his father disowned him from ancestral property rights, he said.
