New Delhi/IBNS: The three men arrested for allegedly throwing acid on a 17-year-old schoolgirl in Delhi planned the attack meticulously taking care of minute detail to mislead investigators, the police said in a statement Wednesday.

The victim has been hospitalised with serious injuries after the acid attack in southwest Delhi's Dwarka this morning.

The police arrested all three accused within 12 hours since the crime was captured on CCTV camera.

The three have been identified as Sachin Arora, 20; Harshit Aggarwal, 19, and Virender Singh, 22.

The police received a PCR call at around 9 am regarding an incident of throwing acid at a girl in the area of Mohan Garden Police Station.

It was stated that a 17-year-old girl was allegedly attacked using some acid-like substance by two persons on a bike around 7:30 am in morning, informed police.

The girl was with her younger sister when the incident took place. She has raised suspicion over two persons known to them.

Accused Sachin and Harshit came on a motorcycle to throw acid on the schoolgirl, the police said in the statement.

Virender, meanwhile, took Sachin's scooter and mobile phone to another location to create an alibi to mislead the police investigation.

The accused ordered the acid from Flipkart, senior police officer Sagar Preet Hooda said in the statement today.

Sachin and the schoolgirl knew each other, but had a fallout in September, after which Sachin decided on the acid attack.

On the acid attack incident, Delhi Commission for Women, Chairperson, Swati Maliwal tweeted and wrote, "In the Country’s capital, two miscreants threw acid on a girl in broad daylight and ran away. Is anyone afraid of the law? Why is acid not banned?"

Acid was thrown on a girl near Dwarka Mor. Our team is reaching the hospital to help the victim. We will get justice for the daughter. The Delhi Commission for Women has been fighting for years to ban acid in the country. When will the governments wake up?" Maliwal tweeted.

Meanwhile, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena spoke to the Delhi Police Commission regarding this incident.

Delhi Lt Governor spoke to the Police Commissioner about the unfortunate incident of an acid attack that took place at Dwarka More today and sought a detailed report into the incident, including as to how the acid used was procured despite a ban in the City, LG Office said in a statement.
