New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: The Indian National Congress Tuesday said that it is fully prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and will soon come with the manifesto, which will not just be a manifesto but the party's 'Nyay Patra' that will fulfill the five guarantees promised to the country.

Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters, party general secretary KC Venugopal, accompanied by party general secretary Jairam Ramesh, said, "The Congress Working Committee had a detailed discussion on the manifesto for the upcoming 2024 general elections. The CWC has authorized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to grant final approval for the manifesto. A date for its final release would be made soon."

He said that during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi met and spoke to several people from different sections of society.

During the yatra, Rahul Gandhi spoke of the guarantees and commitments under the five pillars of the yatra: Kisan Nyay, Yuva Nyay, Naari Nyay, Shramik Nyay, and Hissedari Nyay. These five pillars will have five guarantees.

Venugopal said, "During the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul ji has done the maximum as far as the five guarantees are concerned. But in the coming days, we must spell out what our priorities and policies are going to be for the next five years.".

Meanwhile, Jairam Ramesh said, "The CWC meeting held today is not just for the manifesto but for our Nyay Patra."

Ramesh said that the Congress party is ready to liberate the country from the injustice of the last 10 years of BJP rule.

"Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi ji have announced 25 guarantees with regards to the five justices in the last few days. Along with these guarantees, economic, foreign policy, constitutional protection, the environment, and many other justice agendas related to national interest were also discussed in the meeting," Ramesh said.

Earlier in the day, the CWC extensively discussed the party manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections that was chaired by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

The meeting was attended by Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former party president Rahul Gandhi, and members of the CWC.

In his inaugural speech, Kharge said, "The country has been fervently demanding a change. The guarantees currently being touted by the present government would have the same fate as that of the 'India Shining' slogan of 2004".

He urged the party leaders to ensure that the manifesto gets the widest publicity in different states and that the party's commitment is taken to every household across the country and to the people at large.
