When the troops reached the remote area, suspected militants who hid at the area fired at them. The army personnel then retaliated.

Manipur police said that, the tribal woman was identified as 50-year old Adingu Rongmei.

Two days back, a security personnel was injured when suspected NSCN (IM) militants fired at a police party deployed for the visit of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam in the newly created district.
