Manish Sisodia likely to be deputy chief minister of Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 12 (IBNS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia likely to be named as the deputy CM of Delhi, media reports said on Thursday.

"Arvind Kejriwal, who will take charge as Delhi's chief minister on Saturday, is likely to have a deputy. Manish Sisodia, a 43-year-old former journalist who is the number 2 of the Aam Aadmi Party, is set to be Delhi's first Deputy Chief Minister," NDTV reported quoting sources.

Sisodia, however, said it was not the 'correct time' to speak on the issue.

"At present, the party is thinking on different issues. It is not the correct time to speak on the matter," Sisodia told reporters.

"I can't say anything until something is formally decided," he said.

Days after Arvind Kejriwal's AAP registered a massive victory in the Delhi Assembly polls, the CM designate and party leader Manish Sisodia on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and raised the issue of granting full statehood to Delhi.

Kejriwal is all set to take oath of office in a grand manner at the Ramlila Maidan.

Following his landslide victory, Kejriwal sent a message of thanks to the voters on FM radio and also invited the Delhi residents for his oath-taking ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan.

Winning 67 seats out of the total 70, the AAP surpassed the figures that were projected by exit polls on Saturday when Delhi had voted to elect a new Assembly.

Starting another innings in his political career, Kejriwal, who had shocked Delhi by resigning as the Delhi Chief Minister last year Feb only after 49 days in power, will take oath on Saturday as the chief minister of Delhi for the second time.
