Mayawati closes door for Akhilesh, no BSP-SP tie up in future
Lucknow, June 24 (IBNS): After failing to hurt the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) even a bit in the Lok Sabha polls, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati realised her way in the future is certainly not with once-an-arch-rival Samajwadi Party (SP).

In a series of tweets, Mayawati, a former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, said she had made efforts to come together with the SP, which had taken a number of "anti-BSP, anti-Dalit" calls during their rule in 2012-2017.
"For the benefit of the party and movement, BSP will contest all big and small elections in future alone," she said in a tweet.

Mayawati puts onus on Akhilesh
On June 4, Mayawati had put an onus on SP chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for losing the Lok Sabha polls. "Yadav votes were not transfered to us. The SP has lost in its own bastions," Mayawati had targeted the SP chief.
Of course, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) was a part of the alliance but all eyes were on the arithmatic of SP-BSP which was defeated by Modi's "chemistry".
What was the result?
In the Lok Sabha polls, the SP could win just five seats while the BSP bagged 10. The SP-BSP alliance's figure was undoubtedly dwarfed by the BJP's 62 out of 80 seats.
