Meghalaya re-poll: 86% of voters turn out
Shillong, Mar 1 (IBNS): About 86% of people have turned out to cast their vote during a re-election which took place at one polling station of Meghalaya's Raliang constituency on Thursday, media reports said.
The re-poll was ordered at Kyndong Tuber polling-station after officers stopped voting on Tuesday due to the mix up of the electoral machines.
The polling in 59 out of 60 constituencies was held on February 27.
Polling in the Williamnagar constituency was revoked due to the death of a candidate on February 18.
On Tuesday, about 67% of total voters in Meghalaya turned out to exercise their voting rights.
The poll results will come out on March 3.
