Bengaluru, Nov 26 (IBNS): The daughter of a Karnataka minister hogged the limelight after being a part of mass-wedding ceremony, where not only she attended it, but also married his beau along with 96 other couples, media reported.

According to reports, Karnataka state Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneyulu's daughter Anupama married a company executive at a mass-weeding ceremony at his hometown Chitradurga.

It has been learnt that, the minister made her daughter agree to cancel lavish VIP wedding and go for mass wedding.

Though reluctant earlier, but later on her father's advice Anupama agreed to the proposal and bought just one sari for the ceremony on November 19.

She has also reportedly received no jewellery or sari as gifts from her parents.

It has been learnt that the Karnataka government recently announced that lavish weddings would be taxed and the money would be used for mass ceremonies, whereas inter-caste couples would be rewarded Rs. 25 lakh.

Anjaneyulu though had to face steep criticism from different quarters of using his family for his own political gains.
