Jammu/UNI: Security has been heightened after members of minority communities yet again alleged stone pelting on Tuesday in the bordering Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that some locals including a Village Defence Committee member alleged a fresh incident of stone pelting in Magnar village.

They (locals) have alleged that some miscreants pelted stones on the tin-made rooftops of minority communities thus triggering panic among them, police added.

Confirming the incident, a senior police official said, “the matter was reported by some locals following which a police team was dispatched to the spot. We are enquiring the facts for further necessary action.”

Earlier during the intervening night of Jan 8-9, some unknown persons pelted stones on two houses in the village Bainch of Poonch district.

The security, however, has been beefed up in the twin villages.
