Jaipur, Aug 30 (IBNS): A 23-year old girl from Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur, who went missing last week, was found in Rajasthan on Friday.

The Uttar Pradesh Police tweeted on Friday, "In Shahjahanpur episode the girl has been located by Shahjahanpur police in Rajasthan along with her friend. Necessary legal action is being taken."

The girl was found on a day when the Supreme Court was about to take up the matter.

The girl went missing on last Saturday after she on Facebook posted a video in which she had alleged that a big leader of the Sant Samaj has destroyed lives of many girls and also threatened to kill her.

Her father has accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chinmayanand of sexually harassing and kidnapping her.

Three days after the girl was kidnapped, the police had registered a complaint and charged Chinmayanand with kidnapping and criminal intimidation, media report said.

Chinmayanand is yet to be questioned by police.

Lawyers on Thursday expressed fears that the incident could turn into another Unnao case where an expelled BJP MLA is accused.
