Aizawl: Mizoram Governor P.S. Shreedharan Pillai on Monday visited aspirational district Mamit.
The Mizoram Governor said that he was very happy to be in Mamit to have the meeting with the administration of Mamit district.
He mentioned his intention to visit all the Districts of Mizoram including Mamit district within a short time of his assuming the Office of the Governor, but was unfortunately halted by the pandemic.
He reiterated his experience as Governor of Mizoram during the past one and half year by mentioning the nature of the people of Mizoram as 'good at heart' and law-abiding citizens.
"With a strong civil society and vibrant community life, the state is performing admirably in various development indicators, such as literacy. However, I am sure you will all agree that our State has so much more potential, and that we can achieve much more with hard work and determination,” he said.
Mamit district has a special place in the development story of our great Nation, as it is the only aspirational district from Mizoram.
The central government has taken a keen interest in the development of the aspirational districts.
The Governors have also been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring these aspirational districts.
The Mizoram Governor also mentioned the importance of Self Reliant India or Atmanirbhar Bharat in which Self Reliant Mizoram cannot be left behind. For the realization of these goals, no one is better equipped in terms of resources and ability than the State of Mizoram. It is our duty to inspire and lead the people for a more glorious Mamit, Mizoram and India.
In the Programme, Dr. Lalrozama, DC Mamit presented the District Profile and various developments regarding aspirational district programmes and Shashank Jaiswal, SP Mamit presented ground situation on security scenario.
NGOs, Church Leaders, Village Council leaders and Political Party Leaders submitted their concerns on various developmental issues in writing to the Governor.
