Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA Lasya Naditha, who represented the Cantonment area in Secunderabad, died in a road mishap on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Telangana's Sangareddy district on Friday.

She was 33.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday when the car carrying the MLA and her driver lost control and collided with a road railing.

The incident occurred as the occupants were en route from Secunderabad to Sadasivapet.

Lasya Nanditha lost her life on the spot, while her driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

The MLA's body was shifted to Patancheru Area Hospital for a post-mortem and would later be taken to her residence in Chikkadpally.

Police have initiated an investigation, and a case has been registered concerning the accident.

Lasya Nanditha had previously suffered injuries in a road accident while returning to Hyderabad from Nalgonda.

She had successfully contested and won from the Cantonment area in an election last year, following her father's demise due to a heart attack on February 19.

Expressing shock over Lasya Naditha's untimely demise, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) took to Twitter, stating, "Woke up to the devastating loss of the young legislator who was a very good leader in the making. My heartfelt prayers for strength to her family and friends in this terrible and difficult time."
