Guwahati, Dec 17 (IBNS) : Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) on Saturday claimed responsibility of three serial blasts in Manipur’s Imphal on Friday night.

The outfit group claimed responsibility of triple blasts at Fairyland and Nagaram area near Imphal in between 7-40 pm to 8 pm.

In a statement sent to the media, the publicity secretary of MNRF Thomas Numai said that the outfit group triggered explosions at the residence of Shangreihan, the eldest brother of Th Muivah, General Secretary of NSCN(IM) and a contractor Mingyao and a retired MCS officer Leishisang.

“All the victims are belonging to Somdal village, the native village of Th Muivah, NSCN(IM)’s Cheif of Army Staff Phungthing Muivah, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Tamreipam Muivah and Chief Finance Secretary Chipemmi Muivah,” the MNRF said in the statement.

MNRF had triggered the explosions following three attacks on Manipur police laid by NSCN(IM) militants.

On Staurday, Nearly 70 militants of NSCN(IM) had attacked the two post of Manipur Rifles and 7th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) of Manipur police in Manipur’s newly created district Noney.

The incident took place at Nungkao near Jiribam at around 11 AM and the militant group had also snatched at least 20 loaded weapons of the security personnel.

It is the fourth attack by the NSCN(IM) militants on security personnel in the north eastern Indian state in past 48 hours.

The attack could be in retaliation to the creation of seven new districts by Okram Ibobi Singh led Manipur government.

On Dec 15, at least four policemen were killed and eight others injured in three separate attacks laid by NSCN(IM) militants in Chandel, Tengnoupal and Noney district.
