Modi meets his ministers over inflation

New Delhi, June 26 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a meeting with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on ways to control inflation.

According to reports, the leaders will discuss contingency plans in case of a monsoon deficit.

The Met Department has forecast that monsoon will be 93% of normal this year.

India's inflation rate based on wholesale prices shot to a 5-month high at 6.01% in May compared to 5.20% in April.
