Modi MP visit: Villagers stripped of 'black' clothes

| @indiablooms | Jun 24, 2018, at 10:25 am

Bhopal, June 24 (IBNS): A controversy made its way in Madhya Pradesh after state police stripped villagers (wanting to be a part of inauguration ceremony of Mohanpura irrigation project by Prime Minister)  of every single black cloth, including handkerchiefs, shirts and scarfs, media reports said.

The controversy took a twist when Rajgarh district collector Karamveer Sharma was seen in a black attire while welcoming Modi at the airport on Saturday.

Villagers were asked to leave their black clothes outside in order to gain access to the ground.

According to reports, the state police force took the initiative due to the ongoing agitation where Mohanpura farmers have often waved black to register their protest for inadequate compensation.
