Muslims are no longer ‘minority’ in India, says Giriraj Singh

Patna, Nov 4 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Union Minister Giriraj Singh has sought for ending “minority” status accorded to the Muslims in India.

“Their population has crossed over 20 crore (200 million) in the country. How can be they termed as ‘minority’?” wondered Singh, seeking for redefining the minority.

Singh is a firebrand BJP leader from Bihar and considered close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Muslims have moved from ‘minority’ to majority class. Now, they required to be brought in mainstream of development, instead of being treated as vote-bank,” Singh demanded.

Rattling out population figures, Singh said there are at least 100 to 150 districts in the country—including 17 out of 38 districts of Bihar—where population percentage of Muslims is more than 20 percent.

“Muslims no longer remain minority in India,” said Singh.
