My goal is to see Modi as PM: Raj Thackeray

Mumbai, Apr 18 (IBNS) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) supremo Raj Thackeray has said his only goal is to see Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister of India.

"My first and last goal is to see Modi as the PM," Thackeray told CNN-IBN.

However, he made it clear that his support is for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate and not for the party.

"There's no need for me to join the NDA (BJP-led National Democratic Alliance). Nitin Gadkari and (Gopinath) Munde have met me and offered me an alliance. Eight months back Gadkari met me at my residence and said that he will get back, but time passed and he never got back. Then Munde also did the same," said Thackeray.

"My support is not for the BJP, it is for Modi," he said.

He said he would lend outside support to the NDA if Modi becomes the Prime Minister.

Pertinently, Thackeray's cousin and rival Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena is a key ally of the NDA.
