Nagaland to host 1st Northeast Summit on Dec 20-21
Guwahati, Dec 19 (IBNS): The Nagaland government in partnership with UN Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), co-hosted by International Chamber for Service Industry (ICSI), will be holding its 1st Northeast Summit “Developing Northeast through the Power of Entrepreneurship” on Dec 20 and 21 at Niathu Resort in Dimapur.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will give the keynote address during the inaugural session.
He will be joined by Nadia Rasheed, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, who will give the special address.
Bringing together Policy Makers, UN Agencies, Chief Executives, Chief Sustainability Officers, CSR Managers/ Practitioners, Government Officials, Entrepreneurs, Academicians, Civil Society Organisations and NGOs across India & the Northeast in particular, this Summit is an opportunity to create sustainable development opportunities for the people of the Northeast.
The participants will focus on entrepreneurship and skill development, innovative financing, marketing, processing and infrastructure development to accelerate inclusive growth and employment across various sectors including tourism, textile and agriculture.
The Summit will feature over 50 eminent speakers from across the country along with participating delegations from all north eastern states.
This Summit will feature a policy maker’s panel comprising of senior officials from Government of India and States. It will provide an opportunity to understand policies that are in place while exploring the roadmap to promote sustainable development and entrepreneurship in the region.
The panel on innovative finance will feature senior managers and decision makers of organisations like Intellicap, SIDBI, SBI, NSDC and NeDFi.
Discussions will highlight a range of financing opportunities from grants to loans to equity investments.
Heads of CSRs of organisations like Bhel, ReNew Power, Charities Aid Foundation India, Axis Bank & KPMG will lay the roadmap on how to tap into the CSR budgets.
The entrepreneur’s panel will feature successful entrepreneurs from across the country. Roundtable sessions on key focus sectors –tourism, textiles, agriculture and food processing will feature successful entrepreneurs, and will provide an opportunity to share best practices and provide recommendations for the State to further develop each sector.
