New Delhi, Dec 23 (IBNS) : Najeeb Jung, who resigned as Delhi's Lieutenant Governor on Thursday 18 months ahead of the end of his term, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, reports said.

Meanwhile, speaking  to NDTV, Najeeb Jung claimed that he wanted to quit in 2014, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged him to carry on.

He said he had  requested the prime minister to relieve him after three years as Delhi L-G.

On Friday morning, Delhi Chief Minister  Arvind Kejriwal had  met Jung after the latter's resignation that surprised many.
