New Delhi, May 23 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished YSRCP President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy after his party registered a massive victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls.

Modi tweeted: "Dear @ysjagan, Congratulations on the remarkable win in Andhra Pradesh. Best wishes to you for a successful tenure. ప్రియమైన @ysjagan, ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ లో ఘన విజయాన్ని సాధించినందుకు అభినందనలు. మీ పదవీ కాలం విజయవంతం కావాలని ఆకాంక్షిస్తున్నాను. మీకు ఇవే శుభాకాంక్షలు."

Reddy will sworn-in Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on May 30.

Talking to media at a counting centre here on Thursday, YSRCP State General Secretary Umareddy Venkateswarulu confirmed this and said the YSRCP Legislative Party meeting would be held here on May 25 to elect Mr Reddy as its leader.

Reddy would be the second Chief Minister of the residuary state of AP after the incumbent Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The combined AP was bifurcated in 2014.

Modi also wished BJD chief Naveen Patnaik after it registered a thumping victory in the state polls.

"Congratulations to Naveen Babu for yet another victory in Odisha. Wishing him the very best for the next term," Modi tweeted.
