NDFB(S) arms-ammunition recovered from Chirang

Guwahati, July 3 (IBNS): Huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to NDFB(S) have been recovered by security forces from Chirang district of Assam on Thursday night, officials said on Friday.

Following a tip-off, troops of army and police had jointly launched search operation at Shantipara area in the BTAD district and recovered the arms, ammunition.

Defence spokesman based in Guwahati said that, security forces had recovered one 9mm Uzi sub machine pistol with silencer, 60 rounds 9mm ammunition, two radio sets, few incriminating documents and other war like stores.

Security forces suspected that the recovered arms, ammunition belonging to G Bidai, newly appointed vice president of the Bodo militant group and his closed extremists.
